Planting the Seeds for Lifelong Learning

Founded in Randburg, Greenhouse Learning Centre began as a small group of passionate educators supporting parents who wanted a more personalised learning experience for their children. Today, we proudly serve learners in Grades R-12 through in-person tutoring and homechool facilitation guided by the trusted Impaq Curriculum.

Our Story

Founded in 2018 by Mr. Herman Pretorius, Greenhouse Learning Centre was created with one purpose in mind: to help young minds grow with confidence, clarity, and care. After completing his studies in Psychology and Industrial Psychology at the Rand Afrikaans University, Mr. Pretorius spent many years working closely with learners who faced attention-related challenges. Through this work, he identified a clear need among homeschooling families—reliable academic support, personalised guidance, and tutors who truly understand the learner behind the books.

Greenhouse Learning Centre was built to meet that need. Here, education is not simply delivered; it is nurtured. We work alongside parents as partners, offering structure, support, and expertise to ensure every learner feels anchored and empowered in their learning journey.

We believe every student is wonderfully unique—shaped by their own strengths, personality, and way of learning. Our role is to honour those differences, not smooth them away. By tailoring our support to the whole child, we help learners thrive both academically and personally.

At Greenhouse Learning Centre, we don’t just teach.
We cultivate potential.
We encourage growth.
We inspire confidence.

Every learner is a young seedling in our care—supported, guided, and given the space to flourish in the way that feels most natural to them.
